[ale] md question

  I have a system that is currently 4 disks in a raid 5. It was 5 disks
till 2 disks failed, one hardware.  We rebuilt it and just got the 5th
disk back.  Instead of rebuilding it into the array I want to set it up
as hot spare.  Can this be done cleanly without wiping out my array?  Do
I just add it to the raidtab, stop the raid and start it or what?
Haven't found any good documentation on this and it's a production box
so I can't mess around.
