[ale] blue border, X, and Compaq Armada laptop

Tyler,

Thanks.  I don't think it's necessarily a XF86Config problem (fwiw, I have
resolution set to 800x600).  Rather, it's something specific to Compaq
laptops and their screwed up software bios thingy.
