[ale] ethernet problems

Sounds like my machine at work.  If I don't use su - root  I
have a limited path still
In other words I still have the path of the user that I
'su'ed from

Bless you, Brian.  That did the trick.

I have another question.  Can anyone tell me why most
of my root commands aren't avalable to me in bash as
"su", but only when I log in as root?  Is this
something I can change?
