If you plan on reading some of these pages, you may wanna bring a nasal
strip, clothes pin, or the equivalent. The BS is pretty thick in
there!!!!!!!!

I HAVE to work with windows products (About 20 to 1 ratio windows to Linux)
on a daily basis and I know for a fact the stuff they are spewing down at
MS won't hold water. Of course there are always ways to bend the facts to
make them look differently when viewed at just the right angle in low-light
conditions with a high level of background noise to distract from the
topics being discussed. (They would do that????)Hmmmm

More Stable???? Are you kidding me???? Of the windows boxen here most are
re-set on a weekly basis to avoid those unexplainable service failures,
slow downs, lost resources and other problems. Linux boxen here are
comprised of Firewalls, DNS, DHCP, SSH, Samba ect. were
re-set........ummmm....oh yeah when we......no..............I think I
re-set the box after completeing the install or if an upgrade required it.
I have my SSH server running SSH 3.1, for sftp, key authentication
externally, Samba for internal access and NT Domain authentication
internally. I never re-set it, its as fast as NT for File Sharing, I feel
confident in its security and all this with no GUI to take up resources
while I blindly click buttons 43 levels deep! Last time I checked it had
been up 114 days and had still not swapped out memory to disk and I think
the CPU was at 99.4% free or something wonderfull like that. Show me that
with NT or 2K!!!!

Must admit it is somewhat humorous to see the switch FROM Linux side, I
just have to wonder if all those folks really believe what they are trying
to sell. Wouldn't you love to find out that 20% of MS employees have Linux
on at least one PC at home. (I do know one MS employee who uses Linux to
secure his home network)

Hmm. There's been a little movement on the Microsoft anti-Linux FUD
pages. At http://wehavethewayout.com there's now a link to "Learn how
to migrate to windows" which goes to an area at Microsoft.com devoted to
why and how you should migrate from Unix/Linux to Windows 2000. Sample
arguments for this move include:

   * Reliability (it's better than Windows NT (
http://www.microsoft.com/WINDOWS2000/advancedserver/evaluation/whyupgrade/default.asp
 ) )
   * Performance (it's faster than Windows NT (
http://www.microsoft.com/WINDOWS2000/advancedserver/evaluation/whyupgrade/default.asp
 ))
   * Easier integration ("Linux lacks complete programmer toolkits . .

I'ze just reporting the facts here.
