This would seem to indicate that when you modified /etc/fstab, you 
somehow changed your root entry.  Can you provide before/after copies of 
the /etc/fstab.


If as other's have noted, you can access these filesystems via Tom's 
root/boot, that would be your best solution.  Once you boot, you can 
mount your existing root partition correct the errors in /etc/fstab, the 
reboot.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
