Alternately, you can set up your own Red Hat Network using current
<http://www.biology.duke.edu/computer/unix/current/> and then use up2date.  
The advantage is that up2date has a better interface than apt for some
things (such as installing random new packages w/o knowing already the name
of what you want to install), and also offers a GUI if you're into that sort
of thing....
