[ale] Enough of the OT Crap!!

The short and sweet is this:

ale is not just a mailing list...it's a community built around a mailing
list. In all communities, you have a wide diversity of people with
different ideas and opinions.

In a community, you'll often find things happening you don't agree with or
don't like. But, you don't tell other members of the community to shut
up, you simply ignore them. The community is larger than *you*. I think
this best applies to OT discussions...if *you* don't want to participate,
*you* don't have to.

I for one like reading the often colorful ideas of others on the list.
And, I've learned a lot from answers I've received to questions that
weren't specifically Linux related. The flexibility of the list and its
members is something I see as a great strength. In fact, it's by far the
best list I've ever participated in.

Granted, OT discussions can tend to stubbornly refuse to die, but at that
point I just ignore them. I suggest those of you who think this is
*killing* the list do the same. If this is unacceptable, go start a "ask
one OT question and we'll damn you to a pit of fire and brimstone for
eternity" list. I can guarantee you...I won't join.
