[ale] HELP!!! /HDA DISASTER!

I read somewhere once.  That the head to platen relationship.  Would be like
flying a 747  100 feet off the ground.
Maybe is was closer.  Would be a cool ride while it last though.

My understanding, too. They must be vented because the gas [air] expands
and contracts with temperature changes. Another point we're neglecting is
that disk heads are suspended hydrodynamically on a film of air dragged
along by the disk's spinning. No gas, no bearing under the heads: OUCH!
