why wont the company i work at use linux? well the IT
dudes reply;
1 with linux you have to enter some information to get
it to work on the network with windows 2k you just
install and plug it in.

2 if anything goes wrong with linux its extreamly hard
to troubleshoot since its open source, and no tech
support so once you do get someone who knows what they
are doing on the phone they still arent sure cause its
probobly been modified,

3 i would have to go back to school to learn it and
its steep learning curve presents a problem

now i would like to add that if you check my posts in
the past i have PROVEN to be an air head! HOWEVER i
dont see a steep learning curve. Seems like common
sense from a programmers point of view :) not to
mention this is just servers we were talking about,
you set them up and then with norten utils make a
mirror image, linux seldome needs to be touched am i
right? and if it gets screwed load the image! it cant
be that difficult to run a network with linux can it?
i dont see why it would be. hell im considering
getting a few server quality computers soon and
checking out this morbious? cluster software debian
has :) just purely for a power trip i guess :D
