[ale] kernel panic help

The bad news is that is sounds like the partition tables took a walk in the
park.

This is what I would do. Have them create a toms rboot disk,
http://www.toms.net/rb/home.html

Once the system is booted from the tombsrb disk then see what the partition
table looks like (fdisk) and if it is still there do a fschk on the drives. 

Other than that, I am not sure what other advice to give.
