[ale] Tom's root boot (was Re: [ale] rescue disk)

You're right. I hadn't used it since I switched to ext3.I found
something in the mail archives on Tom's site that suggests ramf will
work. It is available here:

I'm getting it too now that I know Tom's root/boot won't help me.
