Yes, Pervasive is available on both Netware and Linux. Netware is not
going to happen. As I'm the IT guy, and I don't have a clue on Netware
other than reboot it and it runs better when it comes back up, I won't
recommend it.

The Linux option is, very sadly, insufficient. The full application is
Businessworks Gold, a mid-sized business accounting program. The problem
is that the middle, logic layer is Windows only and there is no
provision for having the database over a network connection. At least my
plunderings through the installation onto a W2KPro showed that both
parts had to reside on the same machine. The problem is with either the
license on the database prohibiting a separate install, or the middle
layer is just incapable of tcp connection to the database. The database
can do the networking just fine.

Parte deux: Pervasive is not available in the US apparently. UK, yes.
