The letter sounds more like a "Don't blame us if our customers make CD's"
letter.

I probably is meant to intimidate you, but more for the RIAA to target
anybody but them.
Especially in reference to the McDonald's trial and similar ones going
around.
RIAA is targeting KAZAA and Phillips wants to beat them to the punch to say
"It wasn't me!!!"

Phillips' standard is everywhere.  If RIAA could prove Phillips was even
negligent, it would lose millions.
