[ale] OT: camcorder/camera combos -> aside on DVD format compatability

you may already know this, but www.vcdhelp.com has great reviews on which players are compatible with what formats.   I have a great Philips player that plays everything and can be made 'region free' as well.  Even better is the fact it was cheap!  ($135).
