[ale] Troublesome CDs

Hello all,

I'm in the process of ripping all my CDs to MP3 for listening on the go,
and have found that some of them do not work in the CD drive. None of them are
new enough to be protected by the new consumer-ripoff^H^H^H^H^Hcopy-protection
schemes, and others from the same label are readable. What I'm interested in
knowing is what may be the problem with those disks. Can anyone help/point me
to help?

TIA,
