[ale] innd dead but subsys locked

Hi,
   while i run
   	#service innd stop  ( no result)
	#service innd restart 
           Stopping INNFeed service:     [OK]
	   Starting INND system:         [OK]
	#service innd status 
	innd dead but subsys locked

please help me to solve the above problem,
