[ale] MS problems with "the way out"

It was revealed earlier that the original site was running BSD. But
according to The Register, the site that is up now is probably using
MySQL. The story is here:

They may have found that the cross-platform MySQL was a convenient way
to port the old site to Windows. The Register points out that
"ideological purity" is hard to find. But MS is the one telling the
world that they can do it all. They can't.
