In case people are considering this, I've been using it for a couple of days 
now, running Microsoft Office 2000.  I was actually quite hesitant to do 
this (bad experiences with the conceptually similar WordPerfect 2000 for 
Linux suite have made me leery of WINE for large applications ;-), but so 
far it's been much smoother than I expected.  The only glitches I've noticed 
are that the internal help in each program refuses to start.  Other than 
that, I've only had it die once in two solid days of working in Word under 
it, which is about the track record I experience with Word running on 
Windows XP....
