I had MediaOne/AT&T for over a year.  I constantly had problems with their
services but not the connection itself.  Their DNS systems were constantly
going down, sometimes for a day or two.  The news servers were very slow,
probably overloaded.  If you tried to call customer 'no' services for
anything you measured your hold time in hours not minutes and that has not
changed since their "improved" customer service went on line.

I moved to ADSL on Telocity/DirecTV.  I got 3 free months when I signed up
and a static address.  I have not had any problems for the 3 months I have
been with them.
