[ale] xmms, vmware and sound?

Anyone have sound working with VMWare?  I'm using the OSS drivers.  As
long as I have XMMS stopped, sound works great in VMWare.  As soon as
I start sound, VMWare says /dev/dsp is busy and disables it's sound.

I've installed esd and configured xmms to use esd, but still no change.

Any thoughts?
