[ale] OMG politics goes digital?

The scariest part is that the push is away from safeguards such as 
warrants.  The desire for expediency is overcoming the desire for 
freedom.  Analogous to the proprietary vs. free software issue.  Also 
remember that in our society, we value busy-ness over  all else, so that 
we are lulled into believing that any action is better than thoughtful 
non-action, thus freeedom destroying band-aid legislation.  One can only 
hope that with the discussion about Free Software comes the parallel 
discussion of the Free Society.  It's hard work, but GNU/Linux is proof 
of what we can do.
