[ale] AC 97 Sound

I bought a motherboard with a the newer ALi chipset that includes an
unsupported sound chip under ALSA and OSS. However, when the OSS guy,
Dev, worked on it remotely (that was fun!), he found that it would have
quite good sound from its capabilities. He just needed to get the
latest specs from ALi to be able to accurately program it. I think the
DSP quality is the key for a soundcard. The new Audigy from
Soundblaster has 96KHz sampling instead of 44.1KHz since the higher
frequencies allow the frequencies we hear to be fuller and better
sounding. The harmonics produced are probably much better reproduced.
Of course, your speakers, the way you control the amplification, and the
acoustics in the room along with speaker placement have a great deal to
do with the final sound.
