[ale] cdr problems

I have modeprobe insert the ide-scsi module in my /etc/init.d/local
startup file in my home Linux box with IDE CD and DVD drives. Also,
make sure your case temp is low enough to not fry your cdwriter as
during writes the heat builds up. I had a SCSI CDwriter at work that
lost it's fan and I found out about it by the SGI O2 starting to have
bus errors and locking up. Once you insert the ide-scsi module,
cdrecord -scanbus should find your drive. You may need to link the
/dev/cdrom to the /dev/sg0 or /dev/sr0, whatever your distro uses. What
is the purpose of the sr_mod? All I needed was the ide-scsi to make my
IDE CD-RW work. I believe it is a Lite-On burnproof that is brand new.
Also have a DVD that is seen just fine by cdrecord and XCDRoast. I am
using SuSE 7.1 w/patches right now.
