Josh,

I just did a review of hardware (part of my job) and discovered that the P4 
1.5GHz in real world use performs about the same as a P3 1GHz. The real 
benefit of the P4 is that it can support much higher clock speeds than the 
P3 which will only go just over 1GHz. At the current P4 clock speeds the 
bang for the buck just isn't there but that will change when they start 
putting out P4's that run at >2GHz. Of course I wouldn't expect anyone to 
take my word for that so check it out for yourself.
