Check out Bob Toxens book "Real World Linux Security" for a nice
explanation and examples of ipchains.  I believe you've already got your
answer from Glenn and Joe, however, the book makes a nice reference.  By
the way, the book has reached a ranking of 676 on Amazon.  There is a
website associated with the book that Bob is keeping up to date with new
data.  Congrats to Bob!
