[ale] Upgrade to 2.4.2 kernel procedures

Read the Changes file in the /usr/src/linuc/Documentation directory. It
tells everything you need to upgrade to run 2.4.x -and- where to get them
if you need to upgrade. 

Besides, why wait for RedHat when it's more fun to crunch your own?!!
