Doh! Well I didn't need to go into that much detail. Panic makes one stupid I
guess. I fixed problem. Single user mode and modified the script that was being
launched by rc.local. Fixed the problem. Thanks guy.

Generally booting into single user mode does the trick. What I ususally do
is change the init process to a shell. That way none of the boots scripts
get run:

lilo> linux init=/bin/sh rw

The rw (read/write) is important because the root filesystem is normally
mounted read only for file system checking. Edit your files, sync the
filesystem, and CTRL-ALT-DEL to reboot. The root filesystem won't be clean
becaus there's no script to ummount it. But your changes will stick.
