I cann't say that I know of a networking solution for '98, but if you
don't mind another box in the house (and the $$$$ issue), try a LinkSys
Broadband Router (about $150 at CompUSA?). I set one up for my daughter
and her roommate a month ago, and it's been running like a champ. Setup is
with a web browser, so you can setup with almost anything. The package
includes a simple packet firewall and dhcp server. It seems to be a plug
and forget system.
