[ale] System.map

I've never copied System.map.  I've always reran lilo.  What is the main purpose of system.map?

But not everyone does 'make install' when compiling and installing a
kernel, particularly when compiling on one machine and installing on
many others.  Hence my suspicion that he, say, copied the kernel itself
to the other machines, but not System.map.
