Our Client (a large, respected and rapidly growing company) is looking
for a
Unix Administrator (HP-UX, Sun Solaris) for a 4 month contract-to-perm
position in Atlanta, GA.

Job Description:

Primary job responsibility is to perform advanced UNIX administration
tasks
Must be able to communicate well with customers and users
Provide 24/7 on call support whenever necessary
Should be able to work on different flavors of UNIX, primarily HP-UX
The regular UNIX administration tasks required to be performed, but not
limited to are:
Install and upgrade different types of UNIX servers
Write shell scripts to automate regular routine UNIX administration
tasks
Administer different types of logical volumes, filesystems, RAID storage
arrays and EMC Storage Area Networks
Administer network services like NFS, NIS, DNS
provide 2nd and 3rd level support for UNIX-related and associated
problems
Administer print services and peripheral devices
Administer UNIX user accounts
Tune UNIX systems for optimum performance
Install and configure different types of applications on UNIX servers,
etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in Computer Science
Must be flexible with schedule and should be willing to work weekends,
after
hours, and holidays as necessary
3-5 years experience with UNIX administration in the flavors of HP-UX
and
Solaris
Experience with EMC Storage devices or SAN/NAS technologies
Knowledge of BMC Patrol and Veritas Netbackup
Good understanding of TCP/IP concepts
Knowledge and experience in at least one of the three UNIX shells of C,
Bourne and Korn
Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, peers and
end-users
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and should take the
initiative
to work on different UNIX projects
Experience in documentation of policies and procedures


Desired Qualifications:

3-5 or more years experience in a large distributed systems environment
with
different flavors of UNIX.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Certifications in different UNIX flavors.
Experience in tuning BMC Patrol.
Experience in Veritas products like VFS (Veritas Foundation Suite) and
Veritas Netbackup.
Knowledge and experience in Oracle.
