[ale] Group permissions

Redhat 6.2 system....

This is the ls -l for /aux1:

drwxr-xr-x    2 root     root        16384 Jan 19 12:02 lost+found
drwxr-xr-x    4 root     root         4096 Feb  1 16:13 pgsql
drwxrwxr-x    2 cjritter radio        4096 Feb  5 12:35 radio
drwxrwxrwx    3 root     root         4096 Jan 25 10:11 sql

The directory radio is owned by user cjritter, and group radio.  The group
radio contains users cjritter, glasher, nova.  I set up, and see, rwx
privs for the owner, and rwx privs for the group.  nova is also in group
nova, glasher in group glasher, and cjritter in groups cjritter and
glasher.  I can do this:

[cjritter at hermes radio]$ touch this

...but I can't do this:

[glasher at hermes radio]$ touch this
touch: this: Permission denied

Why?

My intention is to set up a group readable/writable directory
(semi-public) for collaborative work.

Any advice?
