David, If you need NTSC output on the second head, select the G400.  It's
the only one known to work with linux.  Use the g450 if you need VGA output
on both heads.  I don't know anything about the g500, so you're on your own
with that one...

I'm looking to get my hands on a video card for one of my Linux machines.

Here are my requirements:

* Must have video out
* Must have good linux support
* dual head
* Minimum 1024x768x(16 bits) (conventional monitor)
* Don't want to spend a fortune

Optional desired features:
* video in- w/capture
* S-video out
* S-vidoe in w/capture

Now, this all screams "Matrox" to me.  The problem is, that there are a
several  different Matrox G series cards, I'm having trouble
distinguishing amongst them.  Perhaps someone here would make a
recommendation.
