[ale] Samba and Basic

ok guys, got a question for ya, I've been working on a Samba install for a
small office (5 PC's and 2-3 printers). Most of the software they run is
custom BASIC programs that the owner has been working on for the last 20
years. Originally they ran on TRS-DOS, and are now ported and running on
Windows. Well, they are constantly updating and changing and after
re-installing Samba after a harddrive failed, the programmer can't compile
the changes on the server anymore (in QuickBASIC or Power BASIC I'm not sure
which it is that's the problem, I'll find out and get back with the info).
Originally it was giving her a compiler not found errors cause of some
mangling issues, I got those cleared up and thought it was functioning
properly till she noticed that is wasn't giving an error, but it wasn't
actually compiling either. After attempting to compile, it comes back with
compile complete, but the target executable is unchanged. Anybody with any
ideas? I'm stumped right now (and searching through 1600 pages of different
Samba books for answers still).
