I think most of what you are seeing (if it's a RH box, anyway) is being 
generated by tcpd with facility 'authpriv' and priority 'info'.  You're 
probably logging 'authpriv.*' to /var/log/secure.  You could try 
'authpriv.notice' instead.

Well, I give up. What is the command I need in syslogd.conf to stop all
of the generic chatter caused by imap and pop3 in the secure log file? I
have mail.none in there but that doesn't seem to stop it. I was able to
get it to stop in the maillog file but can't figure out the combo for
secure.
