[ale] Filesystem Experimentation

Just an idle thought, so I expect nothing but idle responses.

I have a Compaq Presario 4504 that I'm thinking of putting a new Linux
distro on.  It has inside it an absolute abomination of a hard drive - the
2.1GB Quantum Bigfoot, which apparently has a single platter whirring at
3600RPM inside it's 8"-long, 5-3/4"-wide body (see specs at
http://www.quantum.com/products/archive/bigfoot_cy/bigfoot_cy_specs.htm and
resume reading when the tears clear).

Given this drive, would there be any particularly advantageous filesystem to
consider using for its partitions?
