Not neccessarily!  The driver can turn the heartbeat on, and may have
delay it.

The driver module can configure the card in non-PNP mode.  Not sure
about PNP.

If you can make bootable DOS diskette, grab the diskette set from
3com.

If I apply power to the machine and the hub the card is plugged into
doesn't show the link lighting up, does this mean the card is bad?
These are old used ISA cards that I am falling back to from the new PCI
based cards I had tried previously.  Also, since the cards don't have
jumpers for IRQ settings, can I have the module set them when loading?
