[ale] to try VMWare

I was able to sync a Palm Vx thru an external COM port using the
standard Palm HotSync software running in Win95 OSRV2 w/Y2K patches with
no problem. Had to use the 9600 baud setting though. Have 192Mb RAM on
a Dell Latitude CPt333 laptop with SuSE 6.4. I really like having
Office97, ChemX (chemistry modelling software), ChemdrawPro, and so on,
easy to hand in a window while being able to do Unix/Linux stuff at the
same time. I installed with the latest rpm file from VMware. I'd like
to get the IR port working under Linux for the Palm one day. I do not
like the way Windows wants to run up the CDROM drive at every file
access. That is unnecessary, slow, and noisy!
