[ale] Doc and 2.4.0*

I'm working with a 16mg disk on chip box and am having problems finding any
information about linux with DOC.  I can find API docs but I want to mount the
thing and put Linux on it.  Any suggestions?  
I'm also looking for a small ( < 16 megs ) Linux distribution.  Lrp comes to
mind but I'd like someting a little more robust.  Could Debian fit in 16 megs?
