[ale] sparc modem problem

I assume I should invoke some command from minicom to get a data dump?

>From what I am reading, my serial A/B port is a dual port. I saw a diagram with two cables plugs coming out of the single connector. I simply have plugged in a standard 25 pin male male cable from the sparc to the modem. Is the cable an issue? I would think not since minicom has made the stupid thing work. Incidentially, I have changed the setting in minicom to such an extent that nothing works. I will have to rpm minicom tonight.

Interestingly enough, from a fresh reboot /usr/bin/wvdial ... ( I forget the exact syntax... :-) ) results in a magical probe which "sees the modem at /dev/ttyS0. Any attempt to use the modem (from my now hosed minicom, KPPP, or chat ) results in the diagnostic tool no longer finding the modem.
sigh

This is hard.

The following are the prom setting you will need to look at the ok prompt:
ttyb-rts-dtr-off=false
ttyb-ignore-cd=true
ttya-rts-dtr-off=false
ttya-ignore-cd=true
ttyb-mode=9600,8,n,1,-
ttya-mode=9600,8,n,1,-

Depending on which serial port (A or B) you may need to adjust those values.
Check docs.sun.com for more detail.
