[ale] Creative CD DVD and Ensonic 1370

I will take a look this evening.  One thing extra:  When I invoke the xcdrom
binary as well as the KPP version the CDROM begins to turn, the timer for
the tune starts to time, but no tunes...

What modules do you have pertaining to your sound card in conf.modules? 
Does soundconfig output any errors?  Are you seeing anything related in
/var/log/mesages?  Do you have a /dev/mixer?  Are you part of the audio
group?

I've had my 1371 work just fine on redhat systems... I think something
fundamental is missing.
