[ale] Install on Fresh Machine - Opinions?

You can indeed specify where to install Windows...you just have to do a custom install.  You can tell it D:\windows (for hda2 for example), or wherever.  Just make sure to create the partitions *first* using fdisk, let Windows do its little voodoo, and you'll be set.

Hmmm...interesting...have to try that sometime.  As far as I remember, and
it's been a while for me as well, Windows will install into the first DOS
partition (what it considers the C:) drive, but that is it.

Now I'm curious to try this but can't find a suitable machine to try it
