[ale] sshd not responding

If your SSH was compiled with tcpwrappers, I believe it will kick you at
this point.  Also, did you check /var/log/messages to see what it was
complaining about?

You might try adding "ALL: 127.0.0.1" to your /etc/hosts.allow temporarily
to see if that fixes it.
