This is part 2 of 3 docs on Linux support from Mindspring

A few distributions have Helper Utilities to create Internet Connections.
These can be used, if available, to expedite your connection to the
Internet. Some Helper Utilities you can use to get connected include:

SlackWare --- pppsetup
Type pppsetup at a command prompt.

RedHat --- netconf
Type netconf at a command prompt.

*For more information about domain names, consult the Domains section below

--------------------------------------

When starting these programs, they will ask you for some specific
information. You will need:

   1. Your local access number, which is available at
       http://www.mindspring.net/pop.html

   2. The Mindspring Domain and Nameservers
       Primary DNS - 207.69.188.185
       Secondary DNS - 207.69.188.186
       Alternate DNS - 207.69.188.187

       * (Netcom users enter 199.182.120.203 & 199.182.120.202)

      For domain enter - domain.com

   3. The Mindspring IP address.
Mindspring dynamically assigns an IP address

   4. Your userID and password
Your userID is in the form of "mailbox at domain.com" and the password
is the password you use for checking email.

--------------------------------------

Popular graphical dialers for Linux:

EZ-PPP (X-Windows dialer like Windows NT Dial up Networking)
   http://www.serv.net/~cameron/ezppp/index.html

KPPP (very similar to ez-ppp)
   http://www.kde.org

--------------------------------------

Your domain is a part of your e-mail address, for example:
mailboxname at mindspring.com - the domain here would be "mindspring"

Incoming(POP3) server: pop.domain.com *(For Netcom: popd.ix.netcom.com)
Outgoing(SMTP) server: mail.domain.com *(For Netcom: smtp.ix.netcom.com)
Newsgroup(NNTP) server: nntp.domain.com
FTP Server: home.domain.com *(For Netcom: pweb.netcom.com)

IRC Server: irc.mindspring.com *(For Netcom: irc.netcom.com)
Primary DNS: 207.69.188.185
Secondary DNS: 207.69.188.186

Where domain is one of the following: mindspring, pipeline, sprynet,
ix.netcom, interserv, gowebway, or travelin, for example: mindspring.com
