[ale] Voodoo 3 3000 & Glide?

Dave -

I think you did everything correct (at first) and you probably aren't
loading the 3dfx.o module.  Make sure that your /etc/conf.modules file
contains at least this line:

alias char-major-107 3dfx

If so, try running (as root) '/sbin/modprobe 3dfx', then if you run
'/sbin/lsmod' you should see it listed, and the test3Dfx app should run.

If none of this works, make sure that the file, 3dfx.o exists.  It needs
to be in the /lib/modules/<your kernel version>/misc directory.  If it
is and you had to add the above line to your /etc/conf.modules file, try
running '/sbin/depmod -a' as root before doing the 'modprobe' and
'lsmod' stuff.
