[ale] Routing Question

The gateway and your IP address must be in the same network.  
This was true with your old netmask - but not with your new
netmask.
Try to use 209.186.148.1 - with cablevision this should be your new gateway.
( no guarantee: ask cablevision - use on your own risk )
