[ale] emacs/w3

hello to all!
    has anyone tried playing with W3 for emacs?? i
think i've done what the readmes, HOWTO, and install
instruction have said but when i go to emacs and do a
M-x w3,, it says " no match" my distro is RH 5.1
kernel 2.0.35..
     please help...
