Actually, I was under the impression that it's the in-depth docs that abound
with few putting-it-all-together docs.

Check the Linux Documentation Project http://metalab.unc.edu/LDP

For the breaking news, check newsgroup comp.os.linux.announce ("c.o.l.a");
the hot discussions of direction go on in the comp.os.linux newsgroups and
the list servers, all of which you find referenced in the newsgroups.

It is interesting how little in depth docs are out there for linux.
Myself I used to be an "NT guy" who had a large corp raped around NT.
The amount of problems we had experienced was incredible, but atleast
there were docs.

I used to program in assembly/C/C++/dbase/paradox/fortan/vb/java...,
Right now I want to be one of these people who you see at the
conventions who just can't seem to stop talking about linux. I want to
know it like the back of my hand. What I need is some good resources
that can help me get started.

I figure Kernel would be the best start, to see exactly how it works,
break it down to the smallest details.

If you can point me to a resource, or anything, I would greatly
appreciate it.
