[ale] Kernel Problems

I get the message "ran out of input data" right after my kernel =
uncompresses. (ver 2.2.9).  Anyone have a clue.  I am still trying to =
get my Adaptec card working(2730U2), but to no avail.  I try using the =
AIC-7XXX option and it doesn't seem to work.  Also, I have booted up and =
the OS runs fsck in the bootup and then gets hung in some kind of loop =
on the modules.  I am confused. HELP!
