[ I sent this to the mailing list yesterday but didn't get one back, so I'm
assuming it somehow got lost.  Apologies if this is a repost. ]

In case anyone else wants to install vnc on Redhat 5.1 ...

there is some customization required in the scripts that start the vnc
server.  This link gets you Peter Junger's solution which, when cut and
pasted, worked for me the first time.
