[ale] Which video card to go with my new monitor?

I just got a 21" ViewSonic P815 monitor with .25 dot pitch and does
1800x1440 resolution. This is a LOT of monitor and certainly more than
my 4MB video card will do justice with. There are a gazillion video
cards out there now days with all kinds of features. I'd like to know
what are the best high-performance video cards that have good Linux
drivers that take advantage of their capabilities?
